SAIS2022 Start-up competition prize offering

The 2022 instalment of the SA Innovation Summit powered by the Technology Innovation Agency and hosted in the City of Cape Town took place from the 27^th to the 29^th of September at the Old Biscuit Mill in Cape Town and online. Innovation and entrepreneurship enthusiasts gathered for a week, celebrating innovation coming out of Africa. The SAIS2022 theme – Innovation Goes Viral explored how the positive impact of great innovations can be multiplied, scaled and go viral.

With entrepreneurs always at the heart of the Summit, SAIS2022 saw 4 pitching den competitions playing out on the Summit stage with innovators pitching to judges and investors as to why they believe their innovations will be the answer to the African continent’s problems.

These pitch battles would never be a success without the generosity of prize sponsors. The following sponsors pledged business support and development and investment (amongst others) to the winners of the SAIS2022 start-up competitions.

Von Seidels

The official IP partner for the 2022 SA Innovation Summit, Von Seidels is pledging brand audit and IP registrations to the value of R20,000 for each competition winner.

Anza Capital

Anza Capital is offering a multi-million-rand investment to the top winner of the Foodtech Programme. Mzani Meat Co, the winner of the Foodtech will receive this prize, pending due diligence.

World Innovation Economics

The World Innovation Economics will be taking 3 first place winners from the FoodTech, the Inventors Garage and BoostUp programmes to participate and pitch in the WIE Innovation Awards in Davos, Switzerland in 2023.

Moolman Institute
