Take your Innovation to the Market
Use the SA Innovation Summit to position your invention in the market. The best invention gets R5 000 cash – determined by public vote on our Facebook page. With close to 11 000 Facebook followers, you will have an instant audience. Finalists in this competition aimed at inventors in early stage development with prototypes, will get an opportunity to exhibit their products / inventions in our Inventors Garage on 6 and 7 September.
If you are a serious startup and you want to go beyond a one-one one meeting, enter the Pitching Den competition and stand a chance to take your business straight to Silicon Valley. Finalists will get extended media exposure and exciting networking opportunities with enablers and sponsors.
The deadline for submissions for both competitions is 9 July 2017 and finalists will participate in the Summit on 6 and 7 September in Cape Town. All finalists will receive complementary tickets to attend the Summit but travel and accommodation costs to the event is for your own account.
Discover the Cape Town Startup Ecosystem
To experience and connect with the Cape Town Start-up and Tech Ecosystem the Summit embarks on its first ecosystem tours, giving delegates the opportunity to attend workshops and meet with key roleplayers at various startup, tech, funding and accelerator institutions in and around Cape Town.
Six tours in total, will depart in the morning from the Cape Town stadium, exploring the startup and design scene in Cape Town along the same thematic tracks played out in during the Summit. Typical stops would include examples of visiting co-working spaces in and around Cape Town, exploring best startup practises (e.g. meeting with Fintech entrepreneurs at Techstars), universities etc.
The tours will depart at 8:30 from the Cape Town Stadium, will include a minimum of 3 stops and participants will receive a light lunch and refreshments during the day. Busses will return to the Stadium around 17:00. Tickets for delegates are available at R350 and can be purchased when purchasing your delegate’s ticket.
