Welcome to a year brimming with opportunity! We are so looking forward to this 10th year of the SA Innovation Summit and its continuous contribution to founders and originators with support, inspiration and connection.
Calling all entrepreneurs, investors and innovation enablers, emerging companies and those scaling globally. The 10th annual SA Innovation Summit (#SAIS2017) CALL FOR PAPERS is here and you are invited to participate. The SA Innovation Summit is the platform to inspire others through innovation, thought leadership, programmes, processes and lessons learnt; this is an opportunity to contribute towards making the 2017 SA Innovation Summit the biggest, best and most enabling Summit yet!
The SA Innovation Summit takes place in Cape Town from 6 – 8 September. Ticket sales will start in March. You may register here if you want to be informed of our Early Bird ticket release. A limited number of tickets will be released at hugely discounted prices. Don’t miss this opportunity.
And if you haven’t done so yet, have a look at our Wall of Fame. Nominate a deserving entrepreneur (even if it is yourself!) if you feel they (or you) meet the criteria. The Wall of Fame will be telling their stories of courage, determination and commitment throughout the year:
We look forward to taking this year’s journey towards the SA Innovation Summit, with you! Let’s stay connected so that we deliver an Innovation Summit with no equal in Africa!
This year’s Call for Papers seeks to elicit a resounding response from thought leaders to submit ideas for papers and workshops that align with our 2017 them – Innovation Revolution. Our key focal areas will guide the topics for submission, while due process and specific criteria will be applied to the selection process.
The Call for Papers focuses on four areas: the inventor, the entrepreneur, the innovation platform, and the corporate that uses innovation to accelerate output or throughput. As we aim to have a mix of thought leadership and best practice in innovation, we have established a simple application process:
Click here for submitting your idea for a talk at the Summit.
Abstracts must support the Innovation Ecosystem in some way – are you an enabler, implementer or a creator of innovation? Innovation is new thinking that has been implemented. We are therefore interested in the idea-to-market cycle, as measured against outputs: what value did it create in terms of social or financial impact?
A 45-minute timeframe will be allocated to keynote speakers; break-away workshops will be allocated 45 minutes; briefing sessions 20 minutes. Master classes can be anything between 2 and 4 hours. All concepts or talks must be submitted in link and should not exceed two paragraphs – one explaining the topic and one giving information about the presenter. All final presentations must be available 24 hours in advance for distribution to delegates and uploading onto our online portal after the Summit.
Workshop facilitators must be prepared to develop supporting material to be made available to participants prior to the workshop.
Deadline for submission of papers is CLOSE OF BUSINESS ON 15 May 2017. Selection will take place FROM 1 to 30 June 2017. Submitters will be notified by 30 June 2017 of the final selection.
