Pitching Den Competition | Closing Date – 9 July 2017
True success requires vision and leadership, financial accomplishment, strategic direction and innovation. The Pitching Den competition is designed to recognise and honour entrepreneurs and companies whose innovative tech-enabled solutions will have a significant impact on the growth of the African continent.
It provides a platform for HIGH GROWTH and START-UP (EMERGING) companies across the world to pitch their business to a well-rounded panel of judges. In this way, the SA Innovation Summit celebrates emerging companies with tech-enabled solutions spanning across all industries. This competition category aims to encourage companies with the best growth potential to become market leaders, and to inspire future entrepreneurs and start-ups.
Finalists in the 2017 Pitching Den Competition will compete for a US$ 1 million investment prize at the 2018 Startup World Cup grand finale (presented in Silicon Valley), as well as other prizes, media exposure and networking opportunities with enablers and sponsors, and more.
Do you have a demo, working prototype or product from proven concept to early commercialisation stage? We are calling all South African innovators and inventors – from kitchen and garage inventors, to seasoned innovators and engineering students – to enter, compete and showcase their inventions at the Inventors Garage!
The Inventors Garage Competition is an open competition for South Africans and all entries will be seen on public platforms. You are therefore advised not to submit any information deemed to be confidential. By entering the competition, you confirm that you are the rightful proprietor of any Intellectual Property underlying the invention and that you are entitled to disclose the invention to the public.
The deadline for submissions for both competitions is 9 July 2017 and finalists will participate in the Summit on 6 and 7 September in Cape Town. All finalists will receive complementary tickets to attend the Summit but travel and accommodation costs to the event is for your own account.
A limited amount of Early Bird tickets are available until 31 May. Buy your ticket now to ensure you get the best deal!
