Co-creating our City through Insights, Innovation and Action!

Tuesday 16 August 2016. Workshop 17, V&A Waterfront, Cape Town

The SA Innovation Summit, supported by the City of Cape Town, brings you an inspirational day session focused on ‘Creating a City of Opportunity for All’.

What a difference a Day makes!

How could Cape Town become a real City of Opportunity? What would it take to create a city (and region) that allows all its people to thrive?

We invite the Captains of Industry, thought leaders, government enablers, activists, innovators, entrepreneurs, inventors, investors and incubators to attend a power day of insights, innovative thinking and action. An incredible panel of thought-leaders has been assembled to guide the co-creation session. We have invited The City of Cape Town, Futureworld, a Swiss Digital transformational activist, the Futures Institute of Africa, My African City, Heads of the Region and many other influential drivers of change and innovation.

The High Impact Series on 16 August takes place as part of the Open Design Festival at Workshop 17, V&A Waterfront.

Your input will make a difference!

The insights captured on the day will be shared with cities across the globe with the help of the Futures Institute of Africa and be the platform upon which actionable solutions will be built! If you can set aside the day of Tuesday 16 August to help co-create a smart city, brimming with opportunity, book your ticket now. (If you would like to attend the session, but absolutely cannot afford a ticket, please let us know).

The day will be followed by a 24-hour Hackathon in Khayelitsha, intended to produce applications and solutions to meet the needs identified by the community. If you are a coder or creative and you want to participate in the building of these applications, book your space. Then mark out 19 and 20 August in your diary; you’ll be sharing your brilliance at the Lookout Centre in Khayelitsha.

Hall of Fame

In November, we will unveil a HALL OF FAME to honour the companies that raised the most venture capital, created the most impact through jobs or change in our city, or otherwise facilitated a culture of opportunity, aspiration and excellence.
